How to Measure

When measuring your pet, please try to get accurate measurements. Each pet is a different size, no two pets are alike.

Only use a seamstress type, soft measuring tape. This can be purchased at your local fabric shop. Sometimes you can even find them in the grocery store, near the sewing display. Do not measure with a metal measuring tape as the measurements will not be accurate.

Once you have decided on a style, chosen your fabric, and obtained accurate measurements you can place your order. Please be sure to submit your order form with measurements, before or after purchasing your item.

Below is a guide for Proper Measuring:

All Measurements Should be in Inches
A. Neck: With the pet’s collar removed, measure comfortably around the neck where they would normally wear their collar.
B. Girth/Chest: Measure at the widest point just behind the front legs. If your pet has a bit of a tummy please make a note of this on the ordering page.
C. Length: This one can be kind of tricky. Feel where the shoulder bone comes together at the base of the neck and where the tail begins. Measure the distance between the base of the neck and the beginning of tail bone, following the back bone.
D. Waist: If purchasing pants, belly bands, or santi-panties, it is important to measure the waist. If you look down at your pet, you should see an indentation just below the rib cage. This is normally the waist area.
E. Belly bands: Measure around the fullest part of their tummy, snuggly but gently over his private parts using a soft measuring tape. Adjustments will be made to the measurements, to allow enough room for a sanitary pad.
F: Santi-Panties: 1. Measure around the fullest part of their tummy.
2. Measure from the waist area to the base of the tail.
G. Pants: 1. Measure your pet around the fullest part of their tummy.
2. Measure from the waist area to the base of the tail.
3. Measure from the top of their back side to where their knee joint is. In this case, standing a yard stick on the floor, with the pet standing next to it, you can pretty much get an accurate measurement.
H. Height: 1. Again, standing a yard stick on the floor, with the pet standing next to it, and measure from the top of the shoulder to the ground.
2. Also, make note of the measurement where the elbow joint is.
I. & J. Head: 1. For snoods and hats: Measure around your pets face, in front of the ears, to the top of their brow (above their eyes), to under their chin.
2. Also, measure the top of their head, from ear to ear
3. Measure from the front part, of the top of their head, to the back part of their head for hats.

Please remember to never leave your pet unattended when they are wearing clothing. Check your product for wear and tear and be particularly mindful of collar size and adjustments each time they are worn. Pet owners are responsible for appropriate use of any of these products.
